The Gold Hand Mentorship Program is an employee based program to encourage involvement and ownership of the NLS Health and Safety Program, facilitating growth and development within NLS. Gold Hand Mentorship gives NLS management an opportunity to recognize employees who want to succeed and show initiative.

Experienced workers who agree to participate are given NLS Gold Mentor stickers to wear on their hard hats, and a specific mentor vest, making them immediately recognizable as individuals to whom less experienced employees can turn to for guidance. NLS strives to ensure a mentor is available on every jobsite, to lead by example and instill the NLS values and policies.

Our mentors are thoroughly knowledgeable about the NLS safety program, have ample site experience, and actively participate in the program. An accumulation of all these qualities and requirements helps our workers reach their full potential faster, and complete tasks with more confidence and aptitude; overall, resulting in less workplace injuries and incidents.
